Throughout the year the Buchanan Lioness Club holds events and works on many projects to benefit the community and raise money for national and international projects.

We hold our Brown Bag Grocery Bingo in November where bingo players play for bags of groceries. We help the Mercersburg Lions Club with the annual Mercersburg Lions Club Fair in August. We participate in the Mercersburg Spring Fest in May and the Town Fest in September, often assisting the Tuscarora Chamber of Commerce with a booth. We participate in the Lions District 14T Diabetes Bowl-a-thon.

Our club sponsors a special award, called the Momentum Award. Each year one child in each fifth grade class in the Tuscarora School District, who has worked during the year to come the farthest from where they started at the beginning of the year, is awarded a certificate and $50.00. The recipients of this award are not typically the students with the highest grades, but rather the students who worked the hardest to improve.

Other projects and programs we donate our funds to include Beacon Lodge Camp for the Blind, the Leader Dog program that trains guide dogs,  the Franklin County Therapeutic Riding Center, Shelter Box, Community Events and more.
